Songkhla – On July 18-19, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaweewan Klongsiriwetch, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, led a team of faculty members and staff to participate in the 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the Southern Thai Pharmacist Association. The event, held under the theme “Pharmacy for Tomorrow: Resilience, Longevity, and Therapeutic Innovation,” took place at the Signature Airport Hotel in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. A major highlight of the conference was the honoring of a Walailak University School of Pharmacy alumnus who received the Outstanding Southern Pharmacist Award.
During the opening ceremony, following special lectures by distinguished speakers, the 2026 Outstanding Southern Pharmacist Awards were presented to six individuals. Walailak University takes great pride in announcing that Pharmacist Fadel Salaeding, an alumnus of the School of Pharmacy (Batch 6), was selected to receive the “Outstanding Southern Pharmacist Award in the Category of Outstanding New Generation Pharmacist.”
Pharmacist Fadel is highly recognized for his exceptional work in integrating Information Technology (IT) into public health systems. He has developed numerous healthcare innovations and platforms that have generated a widespread positive impact across the three southern border provinces, earning him recognition from multidisciplinary medical teams. Floodcare: A platform for managing hospital resources during flood crises.

Pharmahub: A system for consolidating and managing pharmaceutical care services.

Rtex Stock and Smart Substock: Programs designed for highly efficient drug inventory management.

ED-Triage: An Emergency Room (ER) queue management program utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Health Passport: A health documentation system developed to facilitate Hajj pilgrims.
The award was officially presented by Pharmacist Preecha Pantiveth, President of the Pharmacy Council of Thailand, who handed over the plaque of honor, and Pharmacist Pattama Tantawiwat, President of the Southern Thai Pharmacist Association, who presented a bouquet of flowers to offer her congratulations.
In addition to the academic sessions, an evening networking and reception event was held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The gathering featured a welcome ceremony for new pharmacists starting their practice in the southern region in 2026, alongside an appreciation ceremony for southern pharmacists retiring this year. On this special occasion, the Southern Thai Pharmacist Association also granted a scholarship of 50,000 Baht to the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, to support educational endeavors and the continued development of high-quality medical professionals for the future.
