Walailak University Triumphs with Two First Runner-Up Awards at the 18th National Pharmacy Support Staff Conference

YUTTHAYA — Support staff from the School of Pharmacy and scientists from the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment at Walailak University (WU) achieved outstanding success at the 18th Annual Pharmacy Support Staff Network of Thailand (PSSNT) Conference. The WU team secured two First Runner-Up awards for their academic presentations during the event held from May 28–29, 2026, at the Krungsri River Hotel in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

The WU delegation was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaveewan Khongsirivech, Acting Dean of the School of Pharmacy, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phuvadol Bangrak, Director of the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, alongside supporting administrative and scientific staff. This year’s national conference was hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Thammasat University.

The opening ceremony featured an inaugural address by Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rattapon Asasutjarit, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Thammasat University, following an operations report presented by Ms. Benjaphak Mingkhwan, President of the PSSNT.

The highlights of the conference for Walailak University were the outstanding research presentations that earned national recognition in two categories:

First Runner-Up Award for Oral Presentation (Office Administration Category): Awarded to Ms. Phatsamon Palee for her research titled “Development of an Automated Grade Tracking System via Google Apps Script.”

First Runner-Up Award for Poster Presentation (Laboratory Category): Awarded to Ms. Wannasupang Chuaipanang for her study titled “Process Improvement for Queue Sequencing in the Common Illness (CI) Project Service in Integration with Community Pharmacy Storefront Services.”

In addition to the academic presentations, the first day of the conference featured a special keynote lecture on “Elevating Communication Skills” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyuth外部 Thavaranurak, Assistant to the Rector for Alumnus Relations at Thammasat University.

The second day focused on knowledge-sharing sessions among peer groups of pharmacy support professionals, followed by a cultural excursion showcasing the scenic landscapes and historic landmarks of the ancient capital of Ayutthaya.

At the conclusion of the event, it was announced that Chulalongkorn University will officially host the 19th Annual PSSNT Conference in 2027.
