School of Pharmacy, Walailak University continuously implementing the academic service project (WU – Social engagement) in the Ban Sra Bua community area. It aims to promote the health and well-being of people in the community (Good health and Well-being) through Quality Education, meeting the needs of the community in promoting and distributing knowledge for youth studying in non-formal schools (Non-formal education)
The Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Administration Learning outside the classroom was organized by using the community as a base (Community-based learning). They found that persons who will be caregivers mostly study in Outsystem Islamic schools in the area which may lack the opportunity to access basic health education. In this education system, all students need to stay mostly in school. All of them must know about health care and how to care the patients.
Miss Najmee Adulyarat, lecturer in the field of pharmaceutical care (Social Pharmacy and Administration) has therefore responded to the needs of the community by extending the results to neighboring villages in Thasala Sub-district, Thasala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province by organizing the project “Youth Leaders for Health” at Baitul Hikmah Institute, Nai-Tung Village and Muslim learning groups, Na-Tup Village during July 2023. Miss Najmee Adulyarat implementing a project to promote self-care knowledge for non-formal schools (Education outreach program) with the main activity of lecturing knowledge on basic self-care and the use of home remedies. This project also gives home medicine cabinets for youth groups to use as a tool to take care of their health.
These activities received cooperation and support from the Thasala Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Islamic Committee, and Ban-Sa-Bua drug stores which is a cooperative partner (Partnerships for the Goals) for further sustainable development.
