School of Pharmacy visited Malaysia to discuss and prepare for pharmacy practice of 6th year pharmacy students

Assistant Professor Dr. Aruna Prasoptham, Assistant Dean of the School of Pharmacy, said that on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the School of Pharmacy Walailak University, led by Dr. Jiraporn Chingulpitak, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Namfa Sermkaew, Head of the School of Pharmacy Research Institute and representatives of faculty from the School of Pharmacy in charge of International Affairs visited the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University, Malaysia to discuss and prepare for sending 6th year pharmacy students to practice professionally in the field of industrial pharmacy and the field of pharmaceutical care. All of the team also visited Taylor’s University’s readiness to teach pharmacy, including Alpro Pharmacy, which will be a source of Community Pharmacy training for 6th-year students.

In the past, the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University used to send pharmacy students on a short-term visit at Taylor’s University during 2018-19 and has been on hiatus for a while due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the pharmacy students who participated in the activities during that time were able to publish their work with faculty at Taylor’s University. It made a great impression on the faculty at Taylor’s University. For current 6th-year pharmacy students, 3 pharmacy students will attend the professional training at Taylor’s University during January-March 2024.
