On 12 – 13 September 2023, the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Apichart Atipairin, Head of the Industrial Pharmacy Department. School of Pharmacy Walailak University with his team, including Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Sawadee, Assistant Professor Dr. Chaweewan Klongsiriwet, Assistant Professor Dr. Namfa Sermkaew, Dr. Nattapon Songnaka, Miss Chanakarn Sittisak, Miss Thamonwan Wangnutat and Mr.Phuwadon Muenraya led 124 pharmacy students on a special trip, “Industrial pharmacy trip” at T.O. Chemicals (1979) Co., Ltd., Giffarine Skyline Co., Ltd., Saowabha Institute of the Thai Red Cross Society, Rangsit Drug Manufacturing Factory, Government Pharmaceutical Organization, Biolab Company Limited, Inpack Pharma Company Limited, and Unison Company Limited, which allow all pharmacy students to experience and see with their own eyes the production process which is the actual production process. All of them saw the production process and modern equipment used in production. They also observed the production process of various medicines such as tablets, liquid dosage forms, suspensions, injectable drugs, etc. This project made it possible to see the actual production process of therapy from the raw material preparation process to finished products.
In addition, they learned about the roles and duties of pharmacists in the production line, what they have to do, what special knowledge they have, etc. All of them can talk to the pharmacists on site and ask them for information which will be helpful for a selection of the branch next year. During this time, all pharmacy students could have learned and visited the standard factory, high facilities, and high technology.
