Our staffs in School of Pharmacy, WU published their research in Q1 Phytochemical Analysis Journal

Let’s congratulate our staff, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gorawit Yosakul and Ajarn Suppalak Paisan to have their research entitled “Immunochromatographic assay for the detection of kwakhurin and its application for the identification of Pueraria candollei var. marifica (Airy Shaw & Suvat.) Niyomdham” published in the Q1 journal Phytomedical Analysis.

Their research has developed a simple-use strip test based on the immunochromatographic assay to specifically detect a kwakhurin compound, which exists only in Pueraria mirifica. This has rendered the high capability of differentiation between the two most common Pueraria spp. Plants, which have completely distinct pharmacological effects.

The strip test developed in their research has highlighted the importance of plant identification prior to proceeding to drug development processes and can be used to ensure the quantity control of Thai herbal products.
