Nakhon Si Thammarat – On September 18, 2025, the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, achieved a significant milestone by receiving the “Top 10 SDG Projects 2025” award at WU SDG Day, held at Hua Taphan Conference Hall, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital. The event was organized to showcase the achievements of academic service projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through oral and poster presentations.
The program was honored by the presence of three distinguished external experts – Asst. Prof. Dr. Apirak Songsarak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jetsada Mingchai, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apinan Suwanarak – who provided valuable academic feedback to enhance the sustainability and long-term impact of Walailak University’s academic service initiatives.
This year, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaweewan Klongsirivet, Acting Dean of the School of Pharmacy, representing the School of Pharmacy, was selected as one of the 20 projects for oral presentation and was further recognized with the Top 10 SDG Projects 2025 award for her project entitled “Advancing Herbal Medicine into Community Herbal Massage Oil Products.” The initiative forms part of the larger program “Walailak Health Model,” which integrates collaboration across multiple sectors, including the Academic Service Center, the Schools of Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, and Public Health, as well as the Ban Thungchon Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
This prestigious recognition reflects the success of integrated collaboration among diverse stakeholders. It serves as an important encouragement for advancing pharmaceutical sciences toward impactful academic services that benefit communities and society at large in a sustainable manner.
