[NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, THAILAND] – A delegation from the School of Pharmacy at Walailak University (WU), comprising two faculty members and four students, successfully conducted an academic mission to Indonesia under the “WU–Jember Pharmacy Exchange” program from May 4th to 9th, 2026.
The visit aimed to solidify a multi-dimensional framework for cooperation between Walailak University and the University of Jember. The two institutions engaged in high-level discussions focusing on curriculum development, joint research initiatives, and the pursuit of international research grants. Key collaborative areas also included postgraduate education pathways and the establishment of student exchange and internship programs, allowing students from both universities to participate in cross-institutional “sit-in” classes and clinical practices.
Beyond administrative discussions, the WU faculty members contributed to the academic environment by delivering guest lectures in pharmaceutical sciences. The delegation also conducted comprehensive site visits to the University’s hospital and pharmacy facilities. These visits provided a platform for exchanging best practices in pharmaceutical care and healthcare management, fostering a deeper understanding of the pharmaceutical systems in both Thailand and Indonesia.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward a sustainable international partnership, enhancing the global competency of students and faculty while driving innovation in pharmaceutical research for the future.
