NAKHON SI THAMMARAT – The School of Pharmacy at Walailak University (WU) has taken a significant step toward international academic excellence by welcoming executives from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Toho University, Japan. The visit culminated in the signing of a Detail of Exchange (DOE) agreement to enhance research collaboration and student mobility.
Showcasing Medical and Research Infrastructure
On March 22, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suriyon Uitrakul, representing the faculty of the School of Pharmacy, led the delegation from Toho University on an extensive tour of the Walailak University Hospital.
The visit highlighted the hospital’s comprehensive pharmaceutical systems, including:
- Outpatient (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) Pharmacy Departments.
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing units.
- Ward-based Pharmaceutical Care, demonstrating real-world clinical practice for pharmacists.
The delegation also visited the Scientific and Technological Equipment Center, focusing on specialized pharmacy laboratories. These facilities serve as the hub for core practical courses and advanced research under the “Special Problems in Pharmacy” curriculum.
A Milestone for International Mobility
The highlight of the visit occurred on March 23, 2026, with the official signing of the Detail of Exchange (DOE) between Walailak University’s School of Pharmacy and Toho University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science.
The agreement establishes a framework for:
