School of Pharmacy with School of Health Sciences welcomed a delegation from the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE), Hong Kong

On Tuesday, January 30th, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Apichart Atipairin, Acting Dean of the School of Pharmacy, WU, welcomed a delegation from the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE), Hong Kong, who came to exchange knowledge in the field of medical sciences. The delegation included members from the Hong Kong College of Health Services Executives (HKCHSE) and the Society for Innovative Healthcare Hong Kong (SIHHK), totaling 16 people. The Center for International Affairs of Walailak University coordinated this visit.

Their visit aimed to meet and discuss with the School of Health Sciences under the theme “International Seminar on Primary Healthcare and Wellness and Medical Tourism.” During the seminar, representatives from CPCE presented on the topics of Primary Healthcare Financing in Hong Kong, Primary Healthcare Nursing Development in Hong Kong, and Service Quality in District Health Centres in Hong Kong.

Regarding presentations, Assistant Professor Dr. Boonsong Wungsintaweekul from the Department of Industrial Pharmacy (Pharmacognosy) of the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, presented “Thai Traditional Medicine in Spa and Health Products.” This presentation emphasized the utilization of knowledge in traditional Thai medicine and Thai herbs in the health service industry, particularly in health spas. Following the presentation, which garnered considerable interest, Assistant Professor Dr. Boonsong Wungsintaweekul was preliminarily invited to lecture on the topic of Spa Development and Operations in the course HMS4328 Resort and Spa Management – Semester 2, 2023/24, for students of the School of Professional Education and Executive Development, College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, scheduled for April 19th, 2567 B.E.
