Research Team of WU successfully researched oral care products from Thai Cardamom extract and transferred to Ban Khao Wang Community Enterprise Group

Center of Excellence in Drugs and Cosmetics and the Center of Excellence in Tourism Management and Creative Economy Walailak University organized activities to transfer knowledge to the Ban Khao Wang Cardamom Community Enterprise, Ron Phibun District, Nakhon Si Thammarat held on January 11th, 2023 at Walailak University. This activity was led by Ajarn Dr. Busaban Sukkarn, the project leader on the topic “Development of oral care products from Thai Cardamom extract and marketing of the products to promote the utilization of Thai Cardamom that is grown from Ban Khao Wang community, Ron Phibun, Nakhon Si Thammarat” under funding from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).

This activity was organized with the objective of making the Ban Khao Wang Cardamom group community enterprise who is the recipient of the knowledge transfer of the project have acquired knowledge and skills in “Production and marketing of oral care products based on Thai Cardamom extract, including toothpaste, mouthwash and oral spray” developed by project operators. All participants in this workshop also exchanged and learned with researchers of the project closely, whether from Associate Professor Dr. Somchai Sawatdee, Assistant Professor Dr. Pajaree Sakdiset, Assistant Professor Dr. Attarat Pattanawongsa, Assistant Professor Dr. Poonsit Hiransai, Assistant Professor Waluka Amaek, and Ajarn Dr. Wasin Praditsilp. The community enterprises from Khao Wang received the knowledge including the product formula, branding strategy, and marketing strategies designed by the researcher. These products will be launched to the market with a marketing strategic plan to increase the community’s income in the near future.
