As per the selection process conducted by the Southern Thailand Pharmacists Club, the Outstanding Southern Thailand Pharmacist of the Year 2024 has been chosen to recognize and honour pharmacists in Southern Thailand who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievements and have made significant contributions in various fields of the pharmacy profession. These pharmacists are acknowledged for their dedication to their duties, adherence to the principles of morality, ethics, and the code of conduct of the pharmacy profession, and for creating works that benefit the pharmacy profession, serving as exemplary models for new pharmacists.
In this regard, Mr. Wiphusit Chanthong, an alumnus of the School of Pharmacy at Walailak University, has been honoured as the Outstanding New Pharmacist of Southern Thailand for 2024.
Mr. Wiphusit Chanthong has demonstrated outstanding abilities in pharmaceutical management and marketing. He was part of the working group that developed the professional practice training curriculum in pharmaceutical management under the Pharmaceutical Marketing Association (Thailand) and the Public Relations Subcommittee of the College of Pharmaceutical Management of Thailand. He has imparted knowledge to pharmacy students during their professional practice training and on various occasions.
Moreover, Mr. Wiphusit Chanthong was selected as the Marketing Catalyst in the Cardiovascular and Metabolism department at Weeratrish (Thailand) Co., Ltd. He was crucial in marketing planning, organizing scientific conferences, and creating promotional materials to support medical representatives in providing valuable drug information to healthcare professionals for patient treatment. He has designed essential systems such as the Tender Project system, which supports planning and analyzing hospital procurement situations, and the Enlisting Project system, which supports medical representatives in proposing drugs to hospitals.
These exemplary works highlight his contributions to the pharmacy profession, making him deserving of the Outstanding New Pharmacist of Southern Thailand for the year 2024 award.
The award ceremony, including the presentation of a plaque and a bouquet, was held on the morning of Saturday, July 20, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 Annual Conference of the Southern Thailand Pharmacists Club, which took place from July 20-21, 2024, at the Laguna Grand Hotel & Spa in Songkhla City, Songkhla Province.
