Dr. Pornsit Chaiya, a lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University, was awarded the Excellent Presentation Award in the field of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (oral presentation category) for his research entitled:
“Numerical Approximation of Drug and Water Diffusion During Controlled Release of Effervescent Matrix Tablets.”
The presentation was part of The 36th National Thaksin University Conference, held from July 17–18, 2025, at Thaksin University, Songkhla Campus, under the theme
“Sustainable Innovation for All: Resilience in a Disruptive Era.”
This research introduces a computational approach for studying the diffusion behavior of drug and water molecules in controlled-release matrix tablet systems, particularly those incorporating effervescent agents. Such systems are gaining attention in the pharmaceutical field due to their potential to enhance the precision and efficiency of drug delivery mechanisms.
Receiving this award highlights Dr. Chaiya’s expertise in applying numerical methods and designing advanced drug delivery systems. It reflects the growing role of mathematical modeling in pharmaceutical innovation and underlines the quality and competitiveness of research produced by emerging scholars at Walailak University on the national stage.
