The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother has passed away peacefully at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, at 21:21 hrs on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 93. Her Majesty had been receiving medical treatment for a bloodstream infection since October 17, 2025. Despite the utmost efforts of the medical team in providing dedicated care, Her Majesty’s condition worsened until her passing.
Her Majesty The Queen Mother has long been revered for her profound contributions to the nation, particularly in the promotion of local craftsmanship, rural development, and sustainable living — initiatives closely aligned with the royal development philosophy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. Across the country, the Thai people have united in expressing their deep sorrow and heartfelt respect. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul extended his sincere condolences, describing Her Majesty’s passing as “a tremendous loss for the nation.” Government agencies have been instructed to lower the national flag to half-mast for 30 days and to observe an official mourning period.
