From Lab to Market: Pharmacy Students Pitch 8 Innovative Cosmetic Brands — “Amorea” Wins Top Honors

The Bachelor of Pharmacy program transformed the classroom into an entrepreneurial arena through a capstone project in the Cosmetic Science course. Fifth-year Industrial Pharmacy students stepped into the role of beauty innovators, translating pharmaceutical science into viable commercial products. The comprehensive challenge encompassed market research, consumer pain-point analysis, product formulation, brand identity design, and go-to-market strategies.

Eight student teams presented their products via dynamic business pitches before an expert judging panel, featuring faculty members from the Pharmaceutical Technology division and Ms. Pakakul Thaweewan, an industry specialist from Walailak University Science and Technology Park. The pitches mirrored real-world investor showcases, requiring students to articulate not just formulation science, but product-market fit and commercial viability.

Standing out among the competitive entries, the brand “Amorea” secured the highest score and the faculty award for its compelling value proposition and market-driven innovation. This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to action-based learning, equipping future pharmacists with the scientific expertise, business acumen, and presentation skills needed to thrive in the modern cosmetics industry.
