Expert Highlights Safe Prescribing Tools at Phatthalung Hospital’s Geriatric Medication Conference

Phatthalung (July 9, 2026) – The Medication System Management Committee of Phatthalung Hospital is advancing the quality of geriatric care by organizing an academic conference titled “Safety Medication in the Geriatric Care.” The event took place at the Nora Meeting Room, Chalerm Phra Kiat Building (Building 7), and featured a special lecture by Lecturer Dr. Siddhibhong Jongkraijakra, Pharm.D., who was invited as a guest speaker to help enhance skills and knowledge for highly effective medication management.

During the conference, Lecturer Dr. Siddhibhong Jongkraijakra provided an in-depth presentation on the topic “Tools for Assessing Appropriate Prescribing in the Elderly.” He placed significant emphasis on crucial bodily systems—specifically the Coagulation System, Musculoskeletal System, and Endocrine System. These systems require a high level of caution and specialized assessment when prescribing medications for geriatric patients.

The primary objective of the event was to provide healthcare professionals and attendees with accurate knowledge and a clear understanding of medication use among the elderly. Additionally, it aimed to develop skills for preventing and managing drug-related problems (DRPs), ultimately reducing health risks and minimizing adverse effects on patients.

This academic conference reflects Phatthalung Hospital’s strong commitment to developing a medication management system that meets the highest medical standards. The initiative aims to accommodate the aging society and elevate patients’ quality of life by ensuring they receive safe, effective, and sustainable medical treatment.
