On March 26, 2025, Assistant Professor Thanawat Khongyot was honored as an Invited Speaker during the Plenary Session and also participated in a forum discussion at the 11th SHCP International Research Conference, hosted by the University of San Carlos – School of Health Care Professions. The conference took place at the Michael Richartz Center, USC Talamban Campus, Cebu City, Philippines.
During the plenary session, Assistant Professor Thanawat delivered a presentation titled: “Antibiotics Management in Rural Communities of Nakhon Si Thammarat: A Multifaceted Approach and Future Prospects for Utilizing Web-Based Applications for Monitoring.” His talk highlighted a comprehensive approach to antimicrobial use in rural communities of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand, and proposed the integration of web-based applications as a tool for effective monitoring and management. The session drew considerable interest from attendees and provided an excellent platform for scholarly exchange among international academics and healthcare professionals.
In addition to the plenary session, on March 25, 2025, Assistant Professor Thanawat was also invited to speak at the “Antimicrobial Stewardship Forum: Strategies to Reduce Antimicrobial Resistance in the Philippines and Thailand.” This forum was held at the Robert Hoeppener (RH) Hall, University of San Carlos, Talamban Campus, and featured collaboration with Mr. Jan Steven So from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
His forum contribution addressed strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance in both the Thai and Philippine contexts. The presentation included comparative perspectives on public health policies and showcased regionally adaptable strategies for antimicrobial stewardship. The exchange of expertise contributed to the formulation of collaborative efforts aimed at mitigating the global threat of antimicrobial resistance in the Asia-Pacific region.
