Welcome to the School of Pharmacy, Walailak University.
The School of Pharmacy at Walailak University was established in 2006 and welcomed its inaugural class in the 2007 academic year, standing as the second pharmaceutical educational institution in Southern Thailand. Over the past two decades, schools have grown with stability amidst diverse changes and challenges. Yet our founding commitment remains steadfast: to produce pharmacists of high caliber and integrity who are dedicated to the advancement of the profession and society. We also wish to express our profound gratitude for the invaluable contributions of Associate Professor Dr. Sunibhond Pummangura, our founding Dean, who laid the vital foundations for our institution.
Today, the School of Pharmacy is widely recognized as a leading institution committed to excellence in pharmaceutical education. We empower our students to become professionals who embody the principle of “Knowledge with Virtue.” This is achieved through a modern, student-centered learning environment led by a faculty of experts across all pharmaceutical disciplines, who are dedicated to mentoring and maximizing the potential of every student. Furthermore, the University provides comprehensive and state-of-the-art learning resources, including digital library systems, Smart Laboratories for integrated theoretical and practical training, advanced scientific instrumentation, and Smart Classrooms designed for both in-person and online learning.
The school is committed to elevating our organizational quality to international standards across all dimensions: education, research, and academic service. Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum is continuously refined to ensure it remains modern and aligned with national policies and professional standards. Our goal is to ensure that our graduates and alumni possess the competencies required to drive healthcare system development at both national and regional levels. In terms of research, we prioritize innovation in drug development, herbal products, and novel health solutions, as well as the optimization of safe and cost-effective medication used to meet the demands of society and the global academic community.
Moreover, the School of Pharmacy actively fosters collaborative networks with leading pharmaceutical institutions—both domestic and international—as well as government agencies, the private sector, and the healthcare industry. By integrating education, research, and academic service, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement of Thailand’s public health system.
